Bienvenus! and well done!  You have discovered "La Vieille Forge" (The Old Forge), the perfect choice for the discerning holidaymaker.  In the heart of rural France (3 hours from Paris, less than 2 from Limoges, only 250-300 miles from most ferry ports), this spacious village house offers peace and relaxation, beautiful views over the nearby fields and all the flavour of the French country-life of old, as well as the comforts of modern living, all for a very reasonable price.

What Makes “La Vieille Forge” Special

·         Value for money – “La Vieille Forge” is inexpensive as a holiday home, but offers comfort and plenty of facilities.  Everything is included in the rental price, including bedding (electricity is extra in winter).

·         Privacy – “La Vieille Forge” is not part of a gîtes complex, nor will you find yourselves sharing with the owners.  You will have the full run of this beautiful house and its gardens (although our friendly English caretaker lives just a few minutes away if you need her).

·         Lots of space, indoors and outdoors – so you will not have to be all on top of each other.

·         Peace and tranquillity, without being isolated – a very de-stressing environment, but with other human life within easy reach (you never know when you may need it ...).

·         Conveniences and amenities nearby – a shop a few meters away, a playground almost next door, lots of supermarkets, shops and restaurants at 10 km distance; no need to travel far to eat well.

·         Plenty of activities and places of interest within 30 minutes’ drive or less: a fantastic public swimming pool, a luxury hotel with golf and a spa, lakeside beaches, châteaux, museums, Georges Sand circuit, les Pierres Jaumâtres ...

·         Pets are welcome – because we know that sometimes a family holiday would not be just that without your pets.

·         Fully enclosed gardens for the safety of children and pets.

·         Wachine machine, DVD player, barbeque, sun loungers, exercise bike, table games: lots to do without even leaving the house.

With its space and seclusion, "La Vieille Forge" is ideal for couples looking for a romantic hideaway and for families with children of all ages and /or pets, and it is a very good value option for groups of friends of up to 9 people. 

This old and charming house offers simple but comfortable accommodation and (although it is situated in a village with a shop and bar only a few meters away) it is also immersed in the countryside, which can mean the occasional encounter with the wildlife, or with a herd of cows heading down the road or mooing in the fields nearby.
