You can fly to Paris from many British towns. "La Vieille Forge" is about three hours away from Paris, both by car and by train.

Trains from Paris (Gare d'Austerlitz) to St. Amand-Montrond and Montluçon leave several times a day, and take around 3 hours (some require a change in Vierzon). You can purchase the ticket on-line and it will be posted to the UK: www.sncf.com. Montluçon is about 50 minutes away by car from "La Vieille Forge".

Hertz and Avis offices. The Avis office is closer to the railway station, but the Hertz office is not very far either (600 m. away, in Faubourg St. Pierre).
